Eyebrow raising

As a child I remember my mum having a special red and very tiny dolly comb set aside just to comb my eyebrows. I and some of my other family members had inherited a phrase I would hear my mum coin as the  (former British Labour Party politician who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer) “Dennis Healey eyebrow.”

As I grew up and became a teenager, with the guidance of my sisters, began to explore the world of female grooming. I was introduced to the world of eyebrow grooming, first with tweezers (ouch, ouch, ouch)! Then razor blading and waxing (ouch, ouch)!🪒 And the finalè threading often done by an Asian female which I liked the most and one which in the Asian community is the most prevalent way of grooming facial hair for both men and women especially for weddings. 🧵

I’ve noticed an eyebrow trend that is across countries and cultures that I would like to explore and discuss. This trend I find is taking the idea of beauty to a questionable and twilight zone level. I wouldn’t say I’m the eyebrow queen, I’ve had my fair share of eyebrow mishaps. Although, I know a well manicured set of eyebrows when I see one. This trend that I’m about to share has become like the pandemic of the beauty industry and believe there should be eyebrow police/ doctors to arrest and fine or put these individuals into quarantine until remedied from all those who dare to walk around with this “makeup mishaps.”

Below are pictures of the eyebrow types which I have categorized .
