Beauty and the beast

 Good day Avoners, 

As I was watching my evening home channel programs, I saw an advertisement that got me really thinking about the pressure girls and females in general are under. Especially with their looks, physical appearance and the cultural concept of beauty. 

Growing up I didn’t even notice or even considered whether I was beautiful Or attractive in any way. I was often told I dressed too old and needed a well deserved makeover. Once I went down that road of wearing makeup, going to the gym and shopping for more fashionable clothes, became like an overnight celebrity! 

 I’ve seen it first hand at salons while getting my hair done and even at church,  girls as young as preschool looking in the mirror and checking their looks, applying lip gloss or crying because their hair is not styled 😔 💄 The Bible says “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7).
